EDUCATION
San Felipe Del Rio Consolidated Independent School
District is a public education system serving approximately 10,462 students.
There are currently 637 teachers at 14 campuses.

Special education, tutorials, bilingual education,
and gifted and talented classes are offered at all grade levels. Secondary
schools equip students with courses in vocational education, music, physical
education, and college preparation. Students requiring assistance in the
transition to English from Spanish may be eligible for bilingual or ESL
(English as a Second Language) programs. Students may also earn college
credit while attending high school through dual enrollment courses offered
at Southwest Texas Junior College.
Six private schools serve 800 students in kindergarten,
elementary and junior high grades. Also available is a private vocational
school offering technological training and certification.
Opportunities for higher education are available in
local classes from Southwest Texas Junior College, Sul Ross State University
- Rio Grande College, and Park College. More than 50 courses are offered
with 2-year Associate, B.A., B.B.A., M.B.A., B.S., M.S., M.E.D., and LVN
degree programs.
